Classic or vintage motor bikes are known to be owner’s pride many of which are demonstrated at classic bike festivals and other motor vehicle events. Thus it is important to have these classic bikes insured as they have higher risks of getting stolen or damaged out of grudge. Usually classic bike insurance premiums are much more competitive than the premiums that have to be paid for a standard bike.

For some people riding a bike is more than a recreational activity and thus even though older bikes may be more prone to damages or breakdown, some factors override these classic bike insurance criteria and hence substantially reduce the risk therefore reducing the price.

“Agreed value” insurance policy is generally acknowledged as the most effective way to insure classic motor bikes. The main benefit of this agreed value motorbike insurance policy is that you have the value of your vehicle agreed at the start of the policy, meaning if you have to make a claim there can be no doubt about the motorcycles worth.

A fully completed classic bike condition at the time of the insurance and four coloured photographs of your classic bike are requested at the time you apply to obtain an agreed value policy. Classic bike insurance policies are specifically created to give the owners peace of mind that their prized possession is covered for every eventuality.

300SL coupe…

300slLet us talk about one of the best car makers in the world - Mercedes. We will concentrate on 300SL coupe that was produced from 1954 to 1957. This car was chosen because as we all know before WW2 and after it the goal of the company was not only racing, but also winning. With this purpose the prototype of Coupe 300SL was created.

In 1952 the car was built with 3.0 liter engine that had 175 horsepower. The design of the frame was space-like and depended on small tubing that ran along the car’s sides to give it additional strengths. Unfortunately, conventional doors were impossible there and engineers had to deal with that situation. To overcome this quandary doors that hinged at their top and were cut into the roof were designed. As you can understand, the so-called “gullwing” doors were created.

But it was impossible for regular drivers to buy this car until 1954 when it was first introduced in New York. And it became one of the best cars of the epoch. But it should be mentioned that the design was changed.

We have discussed one more legend of car industry. More articles are coming up.
